  1. My work is about the redesign of social systems (1, 2, 3), not purely about “values”. This includes redesigning companies and economies—the contexts where designers work.
  2. I’ve never said (nor do I believe) that ideologies “are bad.” Quite the contrary, I often say that ideological efforts to create norms are healthy and there’s a great econ / game theory literature on the optimal creation of norms (I especially like this paper).
  3. Furthermore, I’m working with others to create a kind of popular ideology around new models of human nature. Although I usually use the term “social imaginary”, not ideology. (A social imaginary is particular kind of ideology, see Charles Taylor’s book on the subject).
